Really love the easy tempo--it's really wistful. You still manage to bring out the humor ("hit the kitchen"), but you get the melancholy, too ("only pumpkin pies are burning"). Jeepers, you're almost making me cry, kid.

Well, I think dave's really said it all here  There's a lot of both comfort and emotion here, like watching some cathartic old chick flick in a La-z-boy 
I haven't heard the original, but I recognize a good rendition when I hear one

You have a nice acoustic living room. I usually play in the bathroom for that very reason, but of course I have no undersea recording equipment. Anyway about the song: The title had me expecting some scarey religious thing I dunno, but I was not prepared for a nice pretty acoustic tune like this one is. I like the way that guitar sounds too, and you are a wonderful songwriter.
