Very interesting tone on the guitar, I'm digging it. The synth sounds are nice as well, and the beats are minimal but appropriate. Nice bass.
I'm not really into the holidays, so the lyrical themse aren't my thing, but it's cool. Vocals are well-delivered. My only complaint is they sound a little trebly. I could be wrong, but it sounds like the EQ.
Anyway, nice work!

Beautiful. Your vocals are wonderful--so heartfelt and sure. Wow. Love that double-timed guitar lick in the chorus. And the acoustic sound is perfect. And the rim-shot kills.

The Mix:
I agree with Mux - The mix is too bright for me. The strings in the intro become way too hissy. Also the vocals do not feel in the same room as the music. I think the effects on the various tracks are fighting each other and not letting the parts all come together.
Taken separately, each instrument has an interesting sound and the performances are good. CEG's vocals start out a bit tentative, like she is feeling for her way, but then by 1:10, she finds her pace and settles in to a good tone and direction and has some good sustain.
A bit rough around the edges for me but still a ( and a lot of respect for tackling this one )

Simply re-Eq the entire mix. (I'll do it for ya if you send me the mixed down master .wav file... or I could do it from the mp3 if you want.)

Ok, that’s three. Is it really that bad? Has anyone listened to the original mix lately that I used as a reference? The original has hyped highs too. Listen for yourself and I’ll remix it if the consensus is to do so. D-note me.

Hey this is a cool cover - Weird to hear CEG singing it, because I always thought C.H. was really Tom Petty in a wig, but I digress (CEG kicks her butt, though).
Anyway about the tune (ahem): This is absolutely fine to listen to. I like the brightness and think it works for this song, which is completely recognizable and well done. Superb vox and and really a very nice suprise of a cover tune. Good goin' guys.

Arrangement quite faithfull to the original. Imemine has captured that jangly festive sound but better.I much prefer this version. Give me CEG's singing over CH anyday.

Great vocal control.
Still got that gorgeous voice. I love the swing of the tune.
I listened to it before I read the other comments and just considered it musicians choice for the mix. I really enjoyed it as it is.
After I read the other comments I hit the eq on my end and dropped the high end about 10%. It made a difference but as with all music it's in the ear of the beholder.
Great job. It put me in the spirit.

I'm only on my fifth or sixth playing of this
Ever the Pretenders fan, I have to admit I love the concept as much as the song itself!
Now that Christmas is over for another year, though, I hope you don't take it down...
